How We Got Here

The Ritual
Every serious angler has a ritual: the same knot, a check of the moon and a launch before first light.
That habit is the whole reason this shop exists. Fishing well is not luck — it is preparation, repeated until it becomes second nature.

A Shop Austin Didn't Have
When Andrew moved to Austin in 2018, he missed having a local tackle shop to drop into, like the ones back in California. He wanted somewhere to see the latest gear, talk fishing with other anglers and get real intel from staff who'd just been on the water.
Austin didn't have that kind of shop, so we built one.

Outgrowing The First Space
We opened in 2025 and quickly outgrew our first space. This year we moved to a bigger shop on Northcross with deep swimbait walls, JDM you can actually pick up, an inshore wall for coast trips, a carp section most shops skip, and a crew that fishes more than it clocks in.

Why “Ritual”
Our name and moon mark come from solunar fishing: fish feed hardest around moonrise and moonset, and we plan our days around those windows.
Same crew. New name. Same obsession. Fish the moon.

Milestones
- 2018Austin, no tackle room
Andrew lands in Central Texas and finds nowhere to touch real gear or trade honest intel.
- 2025Ritual opens
The first shop opens with a swimbait-first wall and a small, hand-picked JDM selection.
- 2026Move to Northcross
A bigger room at 7739 Northcross Dr, Ste H — deeper walls, inshore, carp and community space.
